| MES Mother's Day Event - This Thurs- Sunday | We're excited to announce that beginning this Thursday through Sunday, the MES PTA is holding a fantastic Mother's Day Shopping (and Eating) fundraiser with the following Glyndon area businesses. Pick up the perfect gift for Mom (or yourself) at Tickled Pink or the Boxwood Collection. Bring in our attached flyer and 20% of Sales will be donated to MES! Pick up Dinner (their food is incredible-everything from subs to gourmet crab cakes), dessert (best bakery in town) or do your grocery shopping this weekend at SANTONI's market and 10% of the profits from MES Sales will donated to the school. | MES PTA--Where does all the money go? | MES Families, You should have recently received an Alert Now Message detailing the fantastic results from our recent Mardi Gras Carnival and Silent Auction. Thank you to all of our families, volunteers, and local businesses for making it a huge success. And a huge thank you to Julie Ford-Mount for serving her final year as the Mardi Gras Chairperson. Knowing that we raised a lot of money is one thing, but it raises the question of where the money goes. I thought it would be helpful to send out a recent article from the PTA newsletter that addresses this question. Feel free to contact me should you have additional questions. | Fall Staff Dinner Volunteer Form | We desperately need volunteers and donations to show the MES Teachers and Staff how much we appreciate them! The MES PTA is providing a dinner for teachers and staff during the parent teacher conferences this Tuesday, Nov 15th, and we still need volunteers, appetizers and monetary donations. The staff dinner is an annual PTA event to show our appreciation and to support the staff who work thru dinner and well into the evening in order to meet with parents. We are in need of volunteers to help setup and serve from 3:30 to 5:30, and to serve and clean-up from 5:30 to 7:30. Please send in the attached form if you can help or if you can provide appetizers (they can be dropped off at MES on Tuesday afternoon) or send in a monetary donation which can be used to purchase supplies and food. | Fall MES Teacher &Staff Appreciation Dinner | One of the annual activities that our PTA and its wonderful volunteers provide is dinner for the teachers and staff on one of the Parent Conference Nights. As the teacher's and staff typically work through dinner to accomodate evening meetings with parents, we provide a special appreciation dinner for them. Your child should be bringing home today a form detailing how you can help make the dinner a success. Please review it and return it as soon as possible but no later than Friday. | individual Volunteer Log | The Individual Volunteer Log is a form which can be used to record volunteer hours that are worked outside of MES. It can be for any school activity and is a way that the school can record volunteer hours that are worked outside of MES. Simply print out the form when you need it and record your hours. Then send the form in with your child or drop it off in the MES Office. These hours, and the volunteer hours spent inside MES, are reported to the CCPS Board of Education. All of the CCPS schools report their hours and our goal is to be the number 1 school in Carroll County when it come to volunteer effort. So be sure to get credit for all the hours you've dedicated to the school! If you spent time helping with Mardi Gras please record your hours using this form and send it in to school.
